At Mailloux Dentistry, a team of highly skilled members is committed to providing patients with excellent outcomes. Leading the team is Dr. Brittany Mailloux, who was schooled in modern dental technologies at the University of Michigan, one of the nation’s top dental schools. Based on that training, she remains dedicated to continuous self-improvement to ensure patient satisfaction.
Dr. Brittany Mailloux
In early 2012, Dr. Mailloux purchased a longstanding dental practice across from Holland Hospital and opened the doors of Mailloux Dentistry that spring. Her choice to ground her roots in Holland was an easy one.
“I was drawn to Holland because the community supports the importance of family and faith,” Dr. Mailloux said. “I also wanted to be in an area that offered outdoor recreational activities where I could relax and unwind.”
Born in Canada, Dr. Mailloux grew up on Lake St. Clair in Michigan’s southeastern Lower Peninsula. She accomplished her undergraduate education at Wayne State University and enrolled at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2006. She chose dentistry as a career because of her natural affinity for interpersonal relationships and a desire to assist people in a health-care setting.
“I love treating people of all ages and enjoy a challenging case,” Dr. Mailloux said. “It’s such a great feeling at the end of a case when the patient is happy and their smile looks awesome. To give patients smiles that are functional and ones they can be proud of is very satisfying to me.”
Dr. Mailloux graduated from U of M in 2010 at the top of her class, attaining awards from faculty recognizing her expertise in five areas: removable prosthodontics*, orthodontics*, cosmetic dentistry, comprehensive care, and her leadership in forming a student chapter of the American Association of Women Dentists.
Dr. Mailloux practiced as an associate at a number of dental offices in West Michigan before purchasing her practice in Holland. She met her husband, Kevin Kross, a Michigan resident, in dental school and he practices dentistry in Allendale.
While at U of M, Dr. Mailloux worked in a graduate clinic where she was exposed to complex procedures not practiced by her peers in dental school. Dr. Mailloux has taken her experience with the advanced procedures she learned at U of M to another level in her practice. She completed an orthodontic* program in the summer of 2013 and is fond of prosthodontics*—from full-mouth rehabilitation to implant-restorative options. Her practice maintains close relationships with local specialists such as board-certified oral surgeons and endodontists. They work together on comprehensive, interdisciplinary treatment plans for Dr. Mailloux’s patients.
“I vow to myself and to my patients to keep on top of advances in dentistry that will enhance their overall care. My training focused on state-of-the-art procedures and my practice emphasizes a cutting-edge philosophy.”
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Mailloux is an adjunct faculty member for the University of Michigan’s Dental Outreach program, an alumnus of the United States Dental Institute, and a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Michigan Dental Association.
*Dr. Mailloux is licensed as a general dentist; not licensed as a specialist.
